Delicious Shiraz from this historic Victorian producer located in the North East of the state. Baileys have been making wine since 1870. This wine shows complex aromas of blackberry, blood plum & rose petals with hints of liquorice & spice. The full-bodied palate displays rich, ripe fruit flavours & a robust long finish full of flavour.
Today the Baileys winery is a boutique operation that showcases the best of both worlds. Many traditional winemaking techniques are used at Baileys, including the restored 100 year-old Basket Press. The ‘hands–on’ effort required for the grape growing and winemaking is testament to the passion of the Baileys team.
Awards and Accolades
95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "The vineyard was certified organic in ?11, this is the second vintage; a small percentage of co-fermented muscadelle and 18% whole bunches were used. The bouquet is fragrant; medium to full-bodied, with blackberry and plum fruit sitting on fine, balanced tannins; the element of spice in the wine reflects both the complex matrix of the fruit and the fresh fruit from the controlled alcohol; texture is also a feature."
From the Winery
The Baileys vineyard commenced conversion to organics in 2009, attaining full certification in 2011.
This release is the second fully grown and certified organic wine from Baileys, and underlines our strong commitment to organic farming, and producing wines that truly speak of the place in which they were grown.
