Deep vibrant red colours with crimson hue, fills the glass. The aromas exhibit ripe, red berry fruits accompanied by spice and pepper notes. An elegant and balanced palate follows, with soft ripe tannins complimenting the long savoury finish. Will also improve over the next 3-5 years.
From the Winery
Warm dry spring conditions led to good fruit set and healthy vines. Dry conditions prevailed until harvest resulting in ripe fruit with excellent flavours and concentration. Careful attention to detail in the vineyard, maintaining the vines in peak condition combined with hand harvesting resulted in top quality fruit being received in the winery.
The Shiraz was fermented in both tank and open vats with hand plunging and pumping over occurring three times daily. The wine was pressed off skins at dryness and one percent Viognier was blended with the Shiraz, to ensure a smooth and round finished wine. The dine was then matured in a combination of old French and American oak barriques for twelve months before bottling.
