Before the reviews take this wine to the cellar, stellar stage - get in first and put some away is my advice.....It is a wine that just has weight, character, seamless strength and long, long, satisfying depth in all areas.

My mates always ask - What can I buy to put away for a bit? - BUY THIS!

Bendigo Shiraz is some of the finest from Australia, and Blackjack is possibly the best the district has to offer. This comes as no surprise top anyone whose ever had a glass or two, it’s a bit of a mindblower. Dark inky red in colour with aromas of plum, nutmeg and anise (and just the slightest secondary whiff of liquorice and vanilla) at first glimpse/smell it’s enough to knock you back in your seat. The palate is all dark almost overly ripe fruit, the sweetness tempered by dark chocolate, vanilla, and a perfectly melded thread of fine oak and fruit flavours on the finish. Refined, balanced, perfect.

Awards and Accolades

Previous Vintages

2012 Vintage:

93 Points - Jeremy Oliver
"Long and brightly lit, this intense, crafted and stylish shiraz has a penetrative bouquet of cassis, blackberries, dark plums and smokey mocha/vanilla oak laced with nuances of black pepper, spice and vanilla. Sweet and juicy, with a fine, powdery spine, it's initially quite lean but acquires death and richness down the palate, finishing with elegance, persistent flavour and a refreshing acidity."

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ - Winestate Magazine
The 2012 Blackjack Shiraz was awarded 4 Stars in the WineState Annual "World's Greatest Syrah &* Shiraz Challenge IX".The judges described , "A very good wine with a pretty fruit nose showing floral nuances. Great flavour length and focus and subtle tannin structure"

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ James Halliday winery rating.

2010 Vintage:

95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"Bright, clear crimson-purple; the bouquet has fragrant blackberry and plum fruit that signals the beautifully weighted and textured palate, flooded with berry fruits; like Block 6, is medium-bodied, presenting its flavours without effort. Impossible to split the two on quality."
