Clarendon Hills Liandra Syrah 2006 |

|
This wine forms part of Clarendon Hills’ ‘Premier Cru’ classification.
Typically cote rotie in its expression. Lifted smoky, peatiness headlines the graphite and tobacco-edged syrah forging process.
Pleasing mid-palate depth and balanced complexities watermark the potential life span and enjoyment window for this cuvee. This class is highlighted by its potential to be enjoyed now or cellared confidently for 25 years.
Lifted roast meats, spiced liquorice, bitter chocolate, black fruit, chocolate pudding, crushed rock, peat, smokey teabag and gunpowder unite within this weighted and somewhat recessed example..
Sexy amalgamation of richness defined by great balance, positioned acidity and lengthy tannins. The incredible mid‐palate weight provides an excellent length of intensity and considerable nuance of flavour pursues.
Young, dry grown 25 y/o vines are hand picked thereby culturing whole berry, wild yeast fermentation. This increases the retention of the grape’s varietal essence and minimises bitter tannin extract. All pressings are returned to the barrel and bottled onsite without fining or filtration.
18 months, 85% brand new, tight-grained French Oak. Barrels are finally hand selected by winemaking team.
This sandy, west-facing vineyard is named after Roman’s private residence, which celebrated its 100th birthday in 1997. The Syrah and Mourvedre patches consistently offer plush flavour intensity, ripe tannins and good acidity.
