Mitolo often refer to Jester Shiraz as their 'baby GAM' given it utilises the same barrel in which their flagship Mitolo GAM Shiraz was previously aged in.
The result is a Shiraz that's bright and lifted, delivering delightful aromatics of raspberry, blackberry, and a touch of choc-mint. Full flavoured through the palate, dark fruit, plum and black berry flavours intertwined with chocolate, liquorice and a dusting of white pepper. Offering good structure and balance throughout, the velvet like finish has great length and clean acidity. Recommended drinking is within 2-6 years.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ James Halliday Winery Rating
92 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "All things bright and beautiful, all things McLaren Vale shiraz. Blackberry, plum, dark chocolate and milky oak all flow across the bouquet and medium-bodied palate. It's not a great wine per se, but it's at the heart of traditional McLaren Vale style. If it had been picked that little bit earlier..."
From the Winery
Located at the southern end of McLaren Vale, about 4km east of the coastal town of Port Willunga, the soil here is heavy grey loam mixed with black Biscay clay and sits above ancient Gnaltinga formation bedrock. Strong vine growth in spring is tempered by summers dry winds, developing pure, bright and savoury fruit flavours that are tempered by cooling afternoon sea breezes.
The Jesters of the Courts of Europe had one motivation, to entertain the household of a nobleman and his guests. The Jester, a modern day entertainer, is exactly that. Able to excite and tell stories at any dinner table, he is the life of the party. He waivers from fits of laughter, to being somewhat risqué and suggestive. Ultimately, he is there to remind us not to take life too seriously. He gathers friends around regularly to eat and drink well, as he of course is the instigator of such frivolity. We all know a modern day Jester, and to them, the life of the party, we salute the Jester in you.
