Morambro Creek wines are grown, crafted and blended in the Padthaway region of South Australia. They use a small selection of the greatest barrels from each vintage. Traditional winemaking and minimal processing handcrafts wine with intensity of flavour, complexity and structure. These wines exude the varietal characters and depth of fruit derived from their estate vineyards with complexity from meticulous oak integration.

The Padthaway region was adopted as home for many well known vineyards in the mid to late 1960's, due to its rich soil, underground water supply and Mediterranean climate with coastal influences. This is an area that is a gift to the humble wine grape, and whilst plantings of Shiraz, Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon make up the majority of the plantings, other varieties can do equally well.

Deep crimson with a somewhat youthful appearance, fading to red brick on the edges.
The aromas are full and fierce. Hay shed notes and reinforced with delicate strawberry notes. Mint leaf is allowed to come through and then taken back with dusted cocoa. Boysenberry and blackberry make a subtle appearance too.
The palate is full. Cherry ripe is the predominant flavour here, backed with grassy note and white pepper. The white pepper seems to carry the solid oak, and brings with it a subtle hint of toffee.
The finish lets the fruits shine and slowly dissipate. Cherry and strawberry linger for a while, slowly tapering of to the distance. Dew, mint, tobacco leaf and chocolate all intertwine with fine tannins.
