A Shiraz with a beautiful deep colour and a rich in dark forest fruit flavours with hints of chocolate and vanilla. This is a full bodied shiraz that finishes on soft and velvet tannins. Would be the perfect addition to a rib eye steak with whole roasted vegetables, or enjoyed with rich cheeses.
From the Winery
Portrait Shiraz is made in the tradition of the very first Peter Lehmann wine, and represents the heart of Peter’s Barossa. Fruit from more than 60 growers across the length and breadth of the Barossa makes up the final blend, affording consistency to the original Peter Lehmann style: robust and generous. Several of these vineyards are now 100 years old or more. But age alone doesn’t make a great Shiraz – it is how the vineyard is managed, the quality of Peter Lehmann Shiraz continues to improve as growers evolve and adopt new practices in the vineyard that allow us to make better.
The monumental vintage in the Barossa has produced a Shiraz with deep colour and a bouquet of dark forest fruits with a hint of chocolate and vanilla in the background. This is a full bodied, richly flavoured wine with soft, velvet tannins and while drinking beautifully now can be cellared with confidence for another 5-10 years if so desired.
