Deep, rich and dark berries brilliantly cut through the acidity of this wine. Rich tannins give this wine a wonderfully long and savoury finish. Perfect with grilled rump steak, Slow Roasted Ribs, Traditional Italian Lasagne or mature aged cheeses.
From The Winery
Colour: Deep red
Aroma: Ripe plum and black cherry fruit with hints of mocha, graphite and some spicy notes as well. A nice little touch of charry French oak in the background mix.
Palate: Medium bodied with the ripe, dark fruits to the fore with balanced acidity and savoury tannins giving length and structure to the wine.
Summary: The Clare Valley does tend to live in the shadow of our southern colleagues in the Barossa and McLaren Vale a little when it comes to Shiraz , but we produce gorgeous medium bodied wines year after year. Delicious to drink now and the next 7 -10 years. Try this with a hearty beef & stout stew.
Reviews:
"Full red-purple; a generous, medium- to full-bodied wine with blackberry and plum fruit on the bouquet and palate; the vanillan American oak influence is somewhat obvious, and detracts." - James Halliday - The Wine Companion
