Wonderfully slik in texture, and balanced with oak. This wine really shows what the Clare Valley has to offer when making Shiraz's. With subtle earthy stone fruit flavours, this wine goes perfect with a slow roast and grilled vegetables.
From The Winery
With so many wines made from young Shiraz vines, here is a generous Shiraz made with fruit from mature vineyards that were planted more than 70 years ago. These deep-rooted vines impart great depth of flavour.
After above-average winter rains and drier conditions in spring, hot weather in January 2015 accelerated ripening, leading to an earlier start to vintage in February. The rapid ripening meant red and white varieties were ready for picking at the same time, contributing to long days of harvesting and processing. As a result, vintage in Clare finished early before the end of March without any severe impact on quality.
Sevenhill's irreplaceable, 100-year slate fermenters provide the perfect dimensions for small-batch, hand-plunged fermentation of red wines, including Shiraz. Blending from several parcels ensures our Shiraz embraces the distinctive Sevenhill character.
Lower yields from the 2015 vintage concentrated flavours, producing rich varietal style for this refined Shiraz. The intense dark-red fruits of the 2015 Inigo Shiraz integrate smoothly with white-pepper spice and grainy tannins.
