The wine is deep ruby in colour, with a vibrant purple hue. The bouquet offers lifted violets, ripe mulberries and light floral aromas. The palate is silky with intense blackberry and forest fruit flavour. A firm tannin backbone provides good structure, with flavours of cherry, anise and finely ground pepper on the finish.
Awards and Accolades
GOLD - Adelaide Hills Wine Show 2015
91 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front "Smooth, blue and black cherry fruit, sweet spice and vanilla oak. Medium bodied, supple and spicy, sits a bit flat on the palate, but delivers a sophisticated mouthful of Shiraz with a savoury coffee-laced aftertaste of satisfying length."
2014 Vintage: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "A whole berry, wild yeast fermentation is completed in large format used French oak, matured in oak for 10-12 months, blended and returned to stainless steel for 4-6 months. As fresh as a daisy, and as juicy a light to medium-bodied Shiraz can be, its red fruits and spice leading the way, the tannins, soft and fine."
