Sourced from the first block of fruit planted at The Lane, the East facing aspect provides good cover and protection for the vines. The fruit always provides complex blackcurrant overlain with spice characters. Combining with a small parcel of post ferment skin contact provides a core to the wine that means it doesn’t have to spend more than 18 months in large French oak. Yum!

Awards and Accolades
2013 Vintage: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Hand-picked, destemmed and berry-sorted, wild-fermented, 25% post-ferment maceration up to 65 days, matured for 18 months in French puncheons (30% new). A compelling wine, showing how much flavour/texture can be obtained with shiraz at a modest alcohol level, the result an elegant, light-footed, spicy/savoury, complex shiraz."
2013 Vintage: 100 Best Australian Wines, Matthew Jukes "Wine review: 'A wilder and more combative number than the sleek, sultry 2012, which also won my admiration. There is primal spice here and also a little more concentration in the blackberry and black cherry fruit. Every element of Reunion has been augmented in harmony and this means that while it is a wine which still hovers below the darker, oakier reds of McLaren Vale and Barossa it is now on par with St-Joseph and Cornas with their heady fruit and vigorous frames.'"
2012 Vintage: 96 Points - Campbell Mattinson, Australian Wine Companion "Fine expression of cool climate shiraz. Indeed it's immaculate in all respects. It tastes of black cherry, smoky oak, bacon fat, and a delicious array of fragrant, green/dry herbs. Tannin is peppery and assertive but carefully folded into the flavour. It's just starting out on its life journey but it's packed its bags thoughtfully."
