The Professor McLaren Vale Shiraz 2009 |

I am not at liberty to tell you the amazing winery we sourced this gorgeous wine from , but suffice to say it is very old, very, very well respected and sells out every vintage.
It all starts here: A delicious nose of stewed fruits, brown butter, red cherries and cinnamon heralds this McLaren Vale ultra premium Shiraz. It’s a wine that delivers on all fronts too. Lovely savoury flavours – rhubarb, tomato, leather – combine with the richness of mocha, peanut and chocolate, and then gently subside, leaving a blueberry and plum aftertaste that lingers with intent. The tannins are engaging, medium to fine and merge gloriously with the fruit to provide structure and depth.
This McLaren Vale wine is complex and layered with a delightful elegance rather than just a big block of sweet fruit. The producer of this wine is a name synonymous with classy Shiraz and this release is guaranteed bold type in their curriculum vitae.
The Professor resides on the top echelon of the Scholars’ Series of wines – a label we reserve for only the best barrels from the best producers in the best vintages. It is a name that guarantees quality.
