Champagne from independent grower Didier Chopin, based just outside of Epernay.
A blend of 60% Pinot Meunier and 40% Pinot Noir, this Champagne is aromatic and approachable. The nose offers tight citrus notes and freshly cut apple. Effervescence is fine and steady. A sip reveals a smooth texture with flavours of crisp apple, subtle ripe pear and citrus underscored by faint pastry and bready notes. This cuvee spends between 36 - 60 months on lees, allowing the palate to develop texture and a fine structure.
This fresh and complex Champagne is a perfect aperitif, and a real steal for under $45.
