An icily refreshing showcase of pristine, cool-climate fruit with incredible elegance and persistence. The flavours of Pinot Noir are supported by the intense structure of Chardonnay to produce a wine of incredible elegance and length. Aromatic notes of briney sea spray, camomile and delicate apple blossom are followed by earthy undertones of smokey sandalwood and fresh brioche. On the palate, the racy acidity and pithy phenolics give the wine an added dimension and texture and lead through to a pristine finish.
Another classy drop from Tassie, Heemskerk is a sherbetty, delicate wine, driven by white peach, citrus and custardy chardonnay fruit. Bottle ferment complexity is subtle, and the lingering flavours have depth and real zip. Vintage: 2008 Score: 94 Ralph Kyte-Powell
