Clicquot's vintage wines are way ahead. The rose vintage screams of finesse and delivers a classy intensity of aromas. There is fifteen percent Grand Cru pinot noir blended here and it is that that starts you on your journey with this remarkable sparkling.
In the glass you are greeted with a beautiful salmon colour. The aromas gently lift to provide an intense experience with fresh raspberries, spicy cherries, and a touch of citrus. The flavours are of the fruits, perhaps caramelised, liquorice and a warm toasty-ness. There is a lovely sweet spice that comes with cherries and remains on the finish. This is a dry rose that lingers with a savoury characteristic and gentle yeast.

Nick Stock: As you'd expect from Veuve, this brash, toasty and bold vintage rose is a style that has plenty of grilled nuts and complex, spicy autolysis character laid across rich red fruits in convincing, forthright style. The palate's similarly bold and confident, showing plenty of ripe red fruit flavour, smooth build, and a gently toasty pastry and nut-flavoured finish. Very satisfying Champagne.
