As befitting their innovative nature, the Courvoisier Connoisseur Collection are the first releases from one of the major cognac houses to be graded by an age declaration, like whisky, rather than the more conventional grading of cognac, like VS, VSOP and XO.
Courvoisier 12 Year Old features unique and extraordinary cognac not less than 12 years old, representing the perfect moment in time when age and cru meet at the peak of their potential.
This cognac contains eaux-de-vie primarily selected from the Borderies cru, which at 12 years old develop their best floral and spicy notes. These tasting are further enhanced by the combination of Fins Bois grapes to develop the vibrancy of Blend and Grande Champagnes eaux-de-vie that give underlying elegance and depth.
On the nose, notes of violets, orange blossoms quickly meld into spicy tasting of clove, ginger and star anise. Delicate vanilla completes the aromatic harmony.
On the palate, a luxury of almonds, raisins and orange marmalade are nurtured from the Grande Champagne eaux-de-vie, leading to a long and harmonious depth that go perfectly when savoured with luscious sweets, desserts and chocolates.
