Hanwood Estate Classic Muscat |

|
The grapes were harvested and the juice was fermented on skins to extract colour and fine tannins. During the ferment, the juice was partially fortified to aid in greater flavour integration and complexity. Fortification took place on skins and the wine was then drained off skins with the remaining fruit gently pressed to extract the remaining wine. Once the wine was fortified it was placed in large, old casks to mature. This blend is a mixture of the large casks of medium-age wine blended with a very small proportion of younger Muscat to aid in complexity and varietal intensity. An average age of within five to ten years was achieved for a ‘classic’ Muscat style.
Colour: Rich, deep brown tawny.
Aroma: Fresh, lifted Muscat fruit aromas and a hint of brandy with some intense rancio wood aged characters.
Palate: A rich and very smooth palate of Frontignan flavours with some concentrated raisin characters. Extremely luscious with a long lingering finish.
