The nose offers lifted floral notes with some honey hints, the palate delivering neat flavours of white peach, fresh apple and pear. The finish is tight and nicely balanced. Put simply, this is great value everyday Chardonnay.
Reviews
2015 Vintage: Mike Bennie - The Wine Front "Neat drink here. Nothing fancy, does the job, helps the mixed nuts and bhuja mix go down a treat. It’s lively in stone fruit, green apple and melon scents, lifted and floral in a way too, sniff of honey-butter chimes in. In the palate, fresh-feeling, slick in texture, good gob of stone fruitiness and apply stuff, slippery through the shortish finish. Simple done well and great value."
From the Winery
Sourced from established vineyards in the Adelaide Hills. The sheltered aspect and cold Autumn nights, courtesy of these higher altitude sites, combine to ensure the retention of natural acidity in the elegant fruit harvested.
Fruit is harvested during the early morning hours to retain freshness and partially whole bunch pressed. A fast and precise vinification in stainless steel with minimal oxygen contact maximises fruit expression and aromatics. A cool fermentation (15 to 18 degrees) is undertaken in stainless steel tanks before maturation on lees for four months. Twenty percent of the blend is aged in two and three year old French oak to increase complexity and mouthfeel.
