While we cant let you in on the name of this producer, we wont have to kill you if we let you know they're a 4 star Halliday rated winery and hold a not unimpressive collection of trophies, as well as having recently been the talent behind Aldi and Costco scoring gold medals for best white. This wine shows all the signs of a classic cool climate chardonnay, with aromas of tropical fruits and lightly toasted oak. The palate is fruit driven, exhibiting fresh ripe flavours of melon and figs, with a delicate, creamy texture and a crisp finish. Subtle use of oak enhances rather than over powers this wine making it an excellent summer drop. We'd drink this one chilled and in the sun, or over a roast chook.

WINEMAKING:
This wine was crafted from 100% Chardonnay grapes, sourced primarily from our vineyards in the Murray Darling region, located within South Eastern Australia. Grapes were picked and crushed during the cool of night to retain their fresh, varietal flavour. The juice was then divided into five parcels - each parcel of juice undergoing a different treatment which resulted in an individually flavoured parcel of wine.
The summer of 2012 / 2013 was hot and dry - the hot weather ripening grapes out of the 2013 vintage early and the dry spell allowing the sugars to develop fully. Balancing sugar and acid was tricky this year, however the vintage ended with a bang with great flavour ripeness being achieved at the last minute. 2013 will go down as a cracking year, with excellent overall quality.
