  Ferngrove Frankland River Chardonnay 2014

Ferngrove Frankland Chardonnay.gif

Pale green in colour, there's a rich and complex twist of aromas; grapefruit, cumquats, pine nuts and fresh lime notes. The palate kicks off with a splash of intense grapefruit and white stone fruit, all delicately balanced with a creamy creme brulee texture and hints of oak. The finish is fine and long with a touch of lemon and lime zest.

Awards and Accolades

91 Points - Ray Jordan, The West Australian
"A multi-layered chardonnay from Frankland. One of the best balanced and most complete of these wines. Plenty of roasted nuts, creamy stone fruit and a slash of lemon juiciness. The plate is deep and textural, with an impressive, long finish."

2009 Vintage: 92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"A restrained combination of nectarine and melon, with the well-handled spicy oak providing complexity; the palate is quite unctuous, while remaining light and fresh; builds with power and is evenly balanced to conclude."

From the Winery

The grapes were harvested in the early morning, and crushed ever so gently to press. Free run juice was drained and settled prior to controlled fermentation in a range of new, one and two year old French oak barrels. Lees stirring following fermentation assists with texture and mouthfeel. The wine is bottled after 9 months maturation in oak.
