Earlier picking, gentle whole bunch pressing with low extraction rates, using only free run juice, minimal additions and gravity feed directly to barrel for wild ferment with full solids, have all contributed to an elegant wine with a fine acid backbone, complexity, texture and well integrated oak.
Ben Edwards for James Halliday's Wine Companion 2014: 96 (2013) Mid-gold, vibrant hue; the extremely youthful and unevolved the bouquet offers spicy oak, nectarine, grapefruit and struck flint aromas; the palate is tightly wound, with racy, laser-like acidity, charry oak and fine fruit slowly expanding across the finish.
