Wickham was named after Benjamin Wickham, who owned the land in 1842. The property is located along Wickham Hill Road, McLaren Flat The colour is a pale straw with youthful green hues. The aroma is fresh and vibrant displaying citrus, light nectarine and some melon with subtle toasted oak. The palate shows fresh clean fruits with a creaminess courtesy of the small proportion of French oak fermented Chardonnay in the blend.

Having gained a reputation as a maker of innovative and elegant wines Geoff established his own business in 1980 and quickly achieved significant success in both Australian and International wine shows.
As a leading personality in the emerging Australian wine industry, Geoff also established a high profile internationally, most recently as consulting winemaker in Italy making wines for the UK market and as a respected judge at Australian and International wine shows.
Geoff Merrill's wines have been successful at Australian and International wine shows, including the coveted Jimmy Watson Trophy at the 2005 Melbourne wine show. Since 1980 Geoff Merrill Wines have won 29 Trophies, 143 Gold , 373 Silver and 1181 Bronze medals.
