  Hay Shed Hill Chardonnay 2015

Hay Shed Hill Chardonnay.gif

A wonderful example of Margaret River Chardonnay. Brilliant appearance, great clarity and the lightest of green hues. The nose takes in fresh melon, peach and a touch of lime. The palate is complex with good carryover of fruit expression, light and vibrant with a hint of almond and some spice. The well structured finish is clean and refreshing.

Awards and Accolades

2014: 94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"Clear juice fermented in French barriques (30% new), matured in those barriques for a further 10 months, no stirring or mlf. A vibrantly fresh chardonnay with grapefruit and white peach fruit driving the long palate and finish. Here length is the key."

2014: 90 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"Green pear skin and peach, some cedar and spice wood. Medium bodied, almond and citrus, pear, slightly coarse, but has good length. Zesty lime rind and spice to close. Almost like a Pinot Grigio now. Will be better in a year or two when it settles into bottle."

2013: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion
"Straw-green; has all the gravitas expected of the Gingin clone grown in Margaret River, making light work of barrel fermentation and maturation, but no lees stirring or mlf; white peach, melon and fig flavours have exceptional mouthfeel thanks to the acidity, with Chablis-like punch."
