A wonderful example of Margaret River Chardonnay. Brilliant appearance, great clarity and the lightest of green hues. The nose takes in fresh melon, peach and a touch of lime. The palate is complex with good carryover of fruit expression, light and vibrant with a hint of almond and some spice. The well structured finish is clean and refreshing.
Awards and Accolades
95 Points, Special Value Wine - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Fermented in French barriques (30% new), matured for 10 months (no lees stirring or mlf). Margaret River complexity and depth are intensified by the low yields and Gingin clone and use of free-run juice, which have soaked up the oak. Grapefruit flavours settle comfortably on the mid-palate, and are sustained through the length of the wine."
91 Points - Campbell Mattinson, The Wine Front "It’s sunny, it drips with sweet pear-like flavour, it’s boosted by a bite of grapefruit and it’s fleshed out, and made more accessible, by a coating of spicy, cedar wood oak. It doesn’t skimp on the fruit, and it doesn’t skimp on the oak, and yet both are nestled in among one another, and a keen freshness is maintained throughout. The long and the short of it is: it tastes damn good."
