"Here’s a wine that reminds us that it’s OK for a Chardonnay to have flavour and a little malolactic creaminess in this here Modern World. Honeydew melon, lime, cashew and vanilla spice with a little fig and smoky barrel work. Medium bodied with ample fleshy fruit and a silky creamy texture that’s cut back by a fine acid and a flinty mineral quality. Finishes with grapefruit and spice flavours. Composure and high drinkability. Rated : 94 Points" - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
"Mid-gold, green hue; the bouquet offers a blend of grapefruit, melon and spices; the plate follows suit, with ripe fruits, charcuterie and an attractive quartz-like minerality providing spine around the relatively soft acidity; grilled cashews persist on the finish. 94 points" - James Halliday
The Howard Park Chardonnay is a modern style of Australian’ barrel-fermented Chardonnay: elegant, lean and sophisticated. This wine displays mineral, citric and pear fruit characters with some savoury and nutty notes from the interaction of oak and lees. The Howard Park Chardonnay will enormously reward those that are patient enough to cellar this wine. It will develop wonderful secondary characters after about a year and will drink well for five years.
