The quintessential perfect full monty of a Chardonnay! Now 5 years older with some age the combination of fruit, extended time on lees & oak has assembled a real Chardonnay, stylistically perfect and sessionable - delightfully so!
Here is a luxuriously layered Chardonnay offering brilliant flavour, bright fruit and smashing session-ability. Beckoning, bright straw colour with some green hues this wine shines in the glass. Aromas of perfumed white peach and hints of citrus fruit dazzle the senses as you prepare for your next delicious sip. Lush and complex flavours on the palate with a nice dry - crisp finish. I just love this with a spicey chicken Tikka or pesto pasta with pappardelle and some crusty bread or a lovely lemon and prawn risotto garnished with a little chilli.
This vintage once again heralds great fruit, ripened with careful winemaking skills to deliver a rich, succulent, glorious wine that will age brilliantly.
Winemaking Report Gentle pressing and free run juices create the base of this wine. Traditionally fermented and matured in stainless steel at between 12 and 14-degree celcius to ensure vibrancy of fruit, a small portion receives extended lees contact to add texture and complexity to the palate.
Vintage Conditions 2012 was a very good season with predominantly mild, dry days. Yields were generally low and this did result in some excellent parcels of fruit being harvested. Vine-balance was carefully monitored, resulting in fruit that demonstrates the vibrancy and fruit-derived characters that we strive for in our wines. By all accounts it was a textbook vintage.
