A strong showing for this vintage Chardonnay - a touch more oak influence has added complexity and weight. Opening with citrus and stonefruit with the faintest of grapefruit notes. Melon and peach come to the fore on the palate, which is complex and offers depth of varietal flavour before a long finish.
The Rob Dolan Estate in Yarra Valley is one of the most popular wineries in the region. It has been at the helm of the region’s winemaking industry, producing exceptional, quality wines with great depth and flavour.
Awards and Accolades
92 Points - Ned Goodwin, Australian Wine Companion "A strapping chardonnay built on firm pillars of oak and a reductive mineral tang. Stone fruits spring from the glass, framed by cedar and vanilla. The palate unfurls across more spicy oak, presumably helping to mitigate the lower acidity and ripe fruit from such a warm year. Peach, citrus and toasted nuts careen along oaky rails. The finish is long and penetrative, if not slightly hot."
2015 Vintage: 93 Points - Campbell Mattinson, Australian Wine Companion “Substantial white wine. Lashings of stone fruit and sweet, cedary, toasty oak. Almost old school but a train of grapefruit and peach-like flavour powers through the back half. There’s a bit of thrill to this”
