The Lane Beginning Single Vineyard Chardonnay 2015
Here’s yet another outstanding Chardonnay from this classy Adelaide Hills producer.
The Lane’s special vineyard is renowned for its elegant yet flavour-packed Chardonnay, and this is their penultimate example. While their flagship ‘RG’ Chardonnay is a must try if you get the opportunity, at less than half the price this wine gives you a great idea of what The Lane’s unique site is all about.
It’s fine and chiselled in style with pure, concentrated fruit and very high quality French oak - this wine has had no expense spared.
With the last vintage having received a massive 95 points from James Halliday, don't miss out on this unique, modern Australian Chardonnay.
Awards and Accolades - 2014 Vintage:
95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Composed entirely of Dijon clone 95, one of the very best. Fermented and matured in used (70%) and new (30%) French oak. It is a very pure and intense wine, with the distinctive clone 95 grapefruit-nuanced mouthfeel and grip; has unlimited development potential."
95 Points - Tyson Stelzer, WBM Magazine. Top 100 Wines of the Year "A wonderful expression of the minerality of this distinctive site. Purity of white peach and grapefruit is well supported by polished cashew nut oak and a backbone of acidity that is both poised and well integrated, finishing long with softly slatey minerality."
