A light straw green in colour with a bouquet of Turkish delight, honeysuckle, rosewater and aromatic floral notes. There's good depth and rich complexity to the palate; texturally weighty with flavours of lychee and ginger. Crisp citrus and a lingering mineral note make for an enjoyable finish.
Awards and Accolades
92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "From the estate vineyard's Block 4 planted in '78, night-harvested and crushed/destemmed, pressed after 6 hours skin contact. The spicy lychee aromas are replayed on the crisp and bright palate. Give it a year or two and then find some top-end Chinese food to enjoy it with."
From the Winery
The grapes were hand harvested early in the morning while they are cool. They were left to macerate on skins for 8 hours to extract the beautiful aromas and flavours from the rust pink skins before pressing. The pressed juice was cold settled and then transferred to a stainless steel tank. Fermentation was carried out using a Champagne yeast between 12 and 14 degrees.
Bright straw. Aromas of honeysuckle and rose petals. Fresh lychee and ginger on the palate that leads to fresh citrus and mineral notes. The dry grown nature of the Forest Hill Gewurztraminer and the low yields help built natural texture on the finish.
