Courtesy of James Halliday's Winery of the year (2016), and sourced from world's largest planting of Marsanne, this is a great table wine for all occasions.
Lively citrus and tropical fruit on the nose, there is a nicely balanced crunchy acidity through the palate. Time will allow for the development of honeysuckle and marmalade notes.
Recommended cellaring is anywhere up to 8 years. When ready, pair it with anything from spiced asian cuisine to rich seafood dishes; this wine is sure to hold its own.
James Halliday - 95 points "The honeysuckle aroma of this marsanne bursts out of the glass when swirled, perhaps a hint of jasmine or field flowers too. The palate lives up to the promise and then some: the variety is often sotto voce when young, but here it is exuberant, aided by chalky acidity. Date tasted: Sep 2015. Drink by: 2035."
