Light and fresh Pinot Grigio from Tahbilk's Chief winemaker Alister Purbrick with striking bottle artwork provided by wife Rosa Dal Farra.
The bouquet is light with an array of citrus and floral notes, the palate offering flavours of nashi pear with a touch of orange peel and lemon zest. Juicy acidity on the finish makes this a great everyday accompaniment to seafood and fresh salad dishes.
Awards and Accoaldes
2016 Vintage: 95 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Pale blush-pink; a striking wine with strawberry, pear and stone fruits all on display, in some way more like a gris, the ultimate compliment in my book. Top gold Melbourne Wine Awards '16."
From the Winery
This wine was crafted from 100% Pinot Grigio grapes, sourced from our vineyards in the King Valley and the Goulburn Valley. Grapes were picked and crushed during the cool of night to retain their fresh, varietal flavours. The juice was then divided into select parcels. Each parcel underwent a differen treatment such as malolactic fermentation; fermentation and time with French oak; or spending an extended period on yeast lees. Each treatment resulted in an individually flavoured parcel of wine, and the unique character and personality of the final blend is a result of the special handling of these separate parcels.
