With a refreshing pale green appearance this is best served chilled and in the sun! A nose of crunchy pear, green apple and light meadow hay, with some richer marzipan and lychee background notes. The palate has a delicacy and line reflective of the cooler season and is quite dry, yet shows the gingery spiciness, texture and burgeoning roundness which is characteristic of the variety.
Awards and Accolades
92 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Gently whole bunch-pressed, wild-fermented in used French barriques, no battonage (lees stirring). This complex gris has a pleasantly gritty quality to its fruits and acidity, the skins of nashi pear looming large along with unsweetened citrus fruit and pith."
2015 Vintage: 94 Points - Ralph Kyte-Powell, Epicure Uncorked, The Age. "Pinot gris and pinot grigio (same grape, different names) come in an assortment of types. Some are awful, some nondescript, some captivating, but it's notoriously inconsistent from a consumer's point of view. This excellent, complex Mornington Peninsula version does the job well. Pear, spice, savory eggy sulphide and nutty barrel aromas introduce a rich wine of sustained flavor backed by good acid structure and a sustained finish."

Scorpo’s philosophy in the vineyard is simple yet has a profound impact on what ends up in the glass. In essence, the major objective being the creation of wines that represent the confluence of appropriate grape variety, the site and the wine making all working to complement each other in the glass
