96 Points from Mr Halliday! This is a real stunner, so much so the winery have limited sales to 3 bottles per person! Luckily we're here to help.
Aromas of lime and apple mix with chalky minerality on the nose, giving way to full flavours of lime and chalky minerality followed by subtle spices and lime on the pallet. The acidity is tightly knit and long while the texture is soft, making this a well-balanced wine of great complexity, weight and texture. Don't sleep on this!
Awards and Accolades
96 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Made from the best blocks of the Cherubino vineyard in Porongurup, this is a riesling all about finesse, purity and Porongurup's regional stamp. The bouquet has a haunting touch of crushed sea shell, the palate rapidly building a stream of lime zest, green apple and a savoury touch on the banks of that stream. As with all top class rieslings, acidity is the glue that binds."
From the Winery
Porongorup conditions were excellent throughout the season. The spring lead up were dry but that eased with good rainfalls during January which brought much-needed moisture for vine growth and yields, wines have great verve and freshness while red are some of the best in recent memory.
The fruit was hand harvested and grapes were gentle de-stemmed. The free run juice was fermented using natural yeasts, follows by a long cool fermentation between 10-12 Degrees.
