This just might be one of the best investments you make this year? Already 94 pts from Halliday - This Clare Valley Riesling is immediately impressive on the nose with a delightful blossom perfume and then packs a punch as a dry wine with plenty of sweet fruit mid-palate, it has aromas of custard apple and lime, rich lemon pith on the palate and a clean, crisp finish. It will keep well, age delightfully and add some serious depth to your cellar over the next 8 years +.
Drink with salt and pepper squid or lightly spiced Asian seafood dishes.

94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "From a 50yo dry-grown vineyard at Watervale. Has a powdery talc and blossom bouquet, the palate with the structure and texture to carry it through its development journey over the next 10+ years without batting an eyelid."
From the Winery
Elevation is crucial in the Clare Valley. Vines are planted at 400 to 500 metres altitude, where the nights are cool, even during the heat of summer, allowing fruit to ripen more evenly and slowly. The climate is moderately continental and summers are dry, so irrigation is desirable but disease pressure is low. Our vineyard at Watervale is planted with 50-year-old dry grown vines in soils of red-brown loam and clay over limestone.
Dry conditions during spring and summer and high temperatures in early January led to an early start to vintage 2013. The fruit was handpicked in mid-March and the wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks then held on lees for six months to increase creaminess and texture.
