With a 5 star rating from James Halliday, and a location in an area known for it's crisp, refreshing white wines you're basically looking at a double positive here. Eden Valley's 2015 vintage has delivered good yields with some of the best quality riesling and pinot gris seen in recent years!
The best thing about this time of year is ripping out a cold bottle of Riesling and cooking some awesome Asian inspired foods to match. This medium sweet style is just ideal! Floral aromas dominate including pot pourri and rose petal with spicy notes an underlying hint of green lime. The palate delivers green lime juice flavours with a great line of natural acidity, giving it a minerally edge with excellent length on the finish.
Awards and Accolades
2014 Vintage: Special Value Wine & 94 Points - James Halliday, Australian Wine Companion "Estate-grown in the Eden Valley subregion, High Eden; picked after 14 Feb rain between 26 Feb and 13 Mar. Quartz-green; in the best tradition of the Leo Buring style, lime juice cut and lengthened by perfectly balanced acidity. Terrific value."
91 (2013) There is no question about the Eden Valley terroir coming through strongly; there is a tight bundle of lime, lemon and apple rolled up with slatey acidity; will develop well in the medium term.
