The bouquet combines lively freshly-cut-lime aromas with rounder notes of chamomile and some ginger undertones. Initial citrus burst on the palate gradually subsides as flavours of spicy ginger and a hint of lemongrass develop. Texturally, this will become more complex with time spent in the bottle, with cellar potential of ~10 years.
Awards and Accolades
92 Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front "Really pretty perfume, floral, honeysuckle and lemon blossom, touch of fruity sweetness, really settled and citrusy aromatic in its spectrum. Lovely textured, juicy, bright in flavour, soft in a way but then sets up for a crisp, sparkling-esque finish. Tangy citrus, some sweet green apple, balanced and lingers with fresh fruitiness. great drink here."
From the Winery
Grampians is a region of spectacular natural beauty in the heartland of Victorian wine country. Over 600 ha of vineyard are set against a panoramic backdrop of craggy peaks, gorges and waterfalls that make up the Grampians Mountain Range. A longstanding viticultural tradition dating back to the 1850s gold rush makes this amongst the oldest continuously producing wine districts in Australia.
Grampians enjoys a cool, dry climate with cold nights where vines benefit from a long, slow ripening season. Soils consist of free draining grey sands and richer loams over red brown clay broken up by shale.
