Pale straw in the glass with appealing green hue. Lively herbaceous and tropical aromas leap from the glass, with subtle lemon and lime hints.
Long and clean, the palate takes in tropical fruit with good gooseberry flavours. Recommended for drinking young, this will beautifully compliment light seafood dishes and fresh salads.
From the Winery
The grapes for this wine were sourced from the meticulously attended Angove family vineyards and other premium Riverland growers. Soils are predominantly red sandy loam over limestone, on gently undulating east west ridges. The mild year was great for aromatic varietal expression and has allowed us to harvest the fruit with excellent flavour intensity. The vigorous Sauvignon Blanc really benefitted from this mild and even growing season which lead to a juicy natural acidity contributing to excellent palate weight and flavour persistence overall.
Picked late at night to harvest the grapes as cold as possible the grapes were transported to the winery and pressed using modern membrane tank presses. After cold settling the clear juice was carefully racked to cooled fermentation tanks and inoculated with selected yeasts. Cool fermentation was followed by minimal handling, filtration and bottling at the Angove winery.
Awards and Accolades
★★★½ - Tony Love, Adelaide Advertiser "This has to be one of the bargain summer quaffers of the year, from Angove’s huge Nanya vineyard outside Renmark, which also provides for a sibling riesling with similar thrills. This is pretty damn tantalising at the price, fresh and zesty, and while the aromas are a little muted compared to punchier Kiwi styles there are subtle tropical, tangy citrus and green apple flavours — and you can’t go past the refreshingly zingy finish..”
