  Deakin Estate Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Deakin Estate Sauvignon Blanc.gif

This wine is best enjoyed young for its zesty, youthful freshness. It has a mix of grassy/herbal characters plus some tropical notes, and has a commendably dry finish, which makes it food friendly.

Classic food matches are oysters and goat's cheese but things such as white fish, shellfish, chicken, asparagus, risotto and Asian dishes would also be delicious.

From the Winery

The fruit for this wine was harvested from Deakin Estate vineyard in Red Cliffs, North West Victoria.

A cool fermentation is essential, and used, to preserve the fruit characters in this wine. Rigorous fining trials and careful finishing and blending, followed almost immediately, so that this wine can be released and consumed young, when it is at its very best.

Pale straw with lime green hues in the glass that let the herbaceous characters lead on the nose, including light and crisp green bean and pea, with lovely lifted notes of citrus and kiwifruit. The Palate is light-bodied, fresh and zesty. This wine displays lovely herbaceous and citrus flavours - a perfect blend of savoury and fruit characteristics on the palate.
