100% Sauvignon Blanc sourced from silty, clay soils in northern Blaye of Bordeaux, giving intensity and aromatics, as well as clay-limestone in north-east and south-east Entre Deux Mers, which provides depth and complexity. It is fermented at low temperatures in stainless steel and spends six months ageing on its lees for added balance and finesse.
Awards and Accolades
The only Bordeaux brand recommended by Robert Parkerin his Bordeaux Wine Buying Guide The Wine List , Matthew Jukes : Top 250 Wines of the Year “Crisp, refreshing, cleansing, lively, dry, zesty and fun – well done Dourthe for bringing this cheeky, ripe Sauvignon Blanc to our attention. We need more light-hearted, happy-go-lucky French whites, and this bottle certainly gives cheap Sancerre a good kicking !”
Bernard Burtschy, Le Figaro Magazine "Born from the meeting between Dourthe and the best winemakers, this white wine has become the white burgundy. At the forefront of innovation and pure sauvignon, he plays the aromatic purity and freshness with aromas of grapefruit and citrus notes, making it an indispensable wine. To drink on its freshness, within two years."
RVF Guide to Good wine business "A wine with which you will never be disappointed, that's it! It perfectly expresses the aromatic version of a good Cabernet, frank and direct, with a very lemony fresh material in a register. Fun, fresh, and lively final."
Bettane guide Desseauve "In 2014, white No. 1 is harmonious and full of character."
14.5-15.5 / 20 - Gault Millau "Slightly lemony, tension, pure and crystalline mouth. elegant and fruity finish. A fun wine"
