Very limited quantities Available - it doesn't get much better than this Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc!
Adelaide Hills Sauvignon Blanc is THE Australian Savvy Blanc. Wines that are textured, edgy, vibrant and dry with exceptional fruit definition, length and crispness that marry superbly with summer seafood. (No Kiwi fruit here)
A young, refreshing wine with lively acidity. The colour is bright and beautifully with onomatopoeic like green straw tinges at the edges of the glass. Let it catch the light and marvel at the sparkle.
All fruit parcels were crushed and fermented together in the same vessels. The success or otherwise of this technique will only be evident at the point of consumption.
The Adelaide Hills is one of the largest geographical wine regions in Australia, and amongst the most diverse in terms of climate, soil and topography. The region consists of two registered sub-regions, Lenswood and Piccadilly Valley.
From the Winery
South Australia represents only 9% of the Australian population but is home to 50% of the Australian wine industry.
GISA Wines takes its name from the patriotic nature of the owner, making wine from fruit that comes exclusively from South Australia.
GISA is Located in the Old Penfold’s Sparkling Winery, at the top of The Parade, at 578 The Parade Auldana. Adjacent to the Magil Estate vineyard, nestled at the base of the foothills, GISA is an acronym for Geographic Indicator South Australia. The ‘GI’ is the region from which fruit is sourced, and this is a legal requirement when making statements as to the origin of the wine on the label.
Our wines are made using a combination of traditional winemaking techniques -basket pressing and hand plunging – and the best modern practices to capture the character of the grapes.
GISA is a small family owned and run winery, which means we are often forced to wear many hats. We have wine scattered throughout several wineries from Waikerie in the Riverland through Woodside and the Piccadilly Valley and some at GISA cellars at Auldana. We do this as different wineries are better suited to the production techniques that match our desired end result for individual wines. That and we don’t have the range of tank necessary.
We aspire to make interesting, premium wines which reflect the regional character and grape variety. GISA wines are made in very limited quantities.
