GOLD MEDAL WINNER _- Margaret River Wine show!
Made by the Famous Bob Cartwright once again you have a ripper wine from a region that just excells in producing this delightful dry white blend and is famous for it around the world. The colour is pale straw with green hues. Attractive bouquet with vibrant aromas of stone fruit, with hints of green grass, lemon and gooseberry. It has a lively fresh palate and a tight finish. The Sauvignon Blanc provides vibrancy and fruit sweetness, whereas the smaller Semillon component adds complexity and mouth feel. Good depth of fruit with this lovely blend of the two varieties.
Weather early in the season was mild, allowing for even fruit development, followed by beautiful warmer weather in January and February. The fruit retained a delightful natural acid balance at the time of picking. The fruit was machine harvested and the varieties fermented separately. Each variety was given a few hours skin contact, the fruit gently pressed, cold settled and cold fermented. The wine was then fined and cold stabilised prior to bottling. Bottled soon after vintage to retain freshness.
