62% Sauvignon Blanc, 28% Semillon
In Stark contrast to the catastrophe that unfolded during the 2007 vintage, where first drought, then frost, and finally fire wiped out entire crops in north eastern Victoria, 2008 was an abundant vintage of high quality fruit. A large proportion of the Sauvignon Blanc comes from the late Guy Darling’s vineyard in King Valley, and this release acts as an unofficial tribute to him.
Bright pale yellow with green tints. Aromas of citrus with a herbaceous green pea edge from the higher proportion of Sauvignon Blanc. The lifted, grassy King Valley component is evident. Some barrel ferment character adding subtle complexity and further dimension to the palate. A fine natural acid structure provides length and liveliness to the finish.
