A rare and fine wine like most viogniers are this shows great complexity and restraint upon tasting. Perfectly accompanies lemon chicken, gnochhi with fresh shaved parmesan, game poultry, or poached chicken and fish.
Reviews
2014 Vintage: 96 Points, Special Value Wine - Campbell Mattinson - Australian Wine Companion "Hand-picked, whole bunch pressed, fermented and matured for 12 months in used French barriques and puncheons. Bright straw-green; shows why Virgilius is accepted as the standard for all others to seek to achieve, with varietal expression crystal clear in a complex structural web."
2014 Vintage: 94 points, Mike Bennie - The Wine Front "Sleek and svelt, this is a wine of inward concentration and reserved power. It shows strong perfume of frangipani, sugared almonds, apricot in coconut, faint chamomile. It races across the palate with a firm mineral-charged lift of acidity, yet shows gently oiliness (just right) and a supple flush of just ripe apricot flavours. It finishes long, and with a pleasing, gently bitter twist. It’s a wine of class, no doubt, and drinking it feels very satisfying."
