Chateau De Citeaux Meursault Les Grands Charrons 2008
Decanter World Wine Awards 2010 - Commendation.
The Chateau de Citeaux is an estate located in Meursault.
The approach used in the vineyard is one of minimalist intervention but ensuring the soils and grapes are kept in pristine condition. They do not use herbicides and opt for organic composts which is used only when necessary. Work becomes more intense at bud burst, but the same philosophy is at work. The end result, not only being fantastic wines, is a care for the environment in-which the vines are allowed to flourish. The wine is a tribute to the harvest and, as such, the wines express the region they were grown.
Rich gold yellow in colour this brilliant liquid is bright and inviting. The aromas of fresh flowers instantly hit the nose in a fine form that is enhanced by a touch of vanilla. The palate is a feast that is dense and rich, but all the while balanced. The finish is elegant and long, leaving the palate fresh for the next sip.
