  Quest Farm Vin Gris 2011

Quest Farm Vin Gris.gif

A very unique wine, made from 90% Pinot Noir (yep, that's right the red grape) and 10% Pinot Gris (the white grape), the Vin Gris is hand-picked and then pressed very gently on a champagne press cycle, thus the white colour. The free run juice is kept separate from the pressed fruit and then fermented in small lots. the resulting wine is vibrant and refreshing with floral and pear aromas and crisp apple on the palate.

Accolades and Awards:

Michael Cooper: 4/5 Stars
Made from Pinot Noir (90 percent) and Pinto Gris (10 percent) grapes, the 2011 vintage is a Grigio-styled wine- meaning crisp and dry. Full of personality, it is mouthfilling, with fresh, vibrant, citrusy, slightly peachy and spicy flavours, woven with lively acidity, very good delicacy and concentration, and a scented bouquet.

Winemaker Notes: Made by Mark Mason and Michelle Crawford, the 2011 Vin Gris is produced from Pinot Noir
grapes, hand picked and then pressed very gently on a champagne press cycle. The free run juice is separated from the pressed fruit and then fermented in small lots. The floral and pear aromas combine with crisp apple on the palate resulting in a dry and aromatic, food friendly wine that is vibrant and refreshing.

Viticulture Notes: Quest Farm is an exciting and unique wine adventure, 20 hectares were planted in 2000 into 18 separate vineyard blocks all dedicated to pinot noir: clonal and rootstock combinations are matched to the different soils, slopes and aspects.
