Chads Creek Pinot Noir 2004 |
Chads Creek Estate is a Boutique winery on a small plantation that prides itself on producing high quality wine from hand-picked grapes and cane-pruned vines.
The 03-04 growing season produced subtle and delicate flavours in Pinot Noir grown in the Yarra Valley. Strathewen is located at the foot-hills of Kinglake National Park, on the western fringe of the Yarra Valley.
The vineyard is a small five-acre block nestled in a secluded sanctuary. The rich soils and cool climate makes the area an ideal location to produce high quality Pinot Noir wine.
This absolutely Yummy 2004 Pinot Noir exhibits rich, strawberry forest fruit flavours, delicately balanced acidity and a silky tannin finish. Slightly perfumed French oak, complements subtle blackcurrant flavours and elegant floral notes. A pleasant nose of strawberry with rhubarb characters and a cinnamon aftertaste. This wine will satisfy those who prefer a light-medium bodied Pinot Noir. Great drinking now but will develop more complex flavours in the bottle.

A typical cool climate burgundy style with excellent velvety depth of colour. A distinct varietal aroma of intense ripe raspberry and cherry flavours. The palate enhanced by the subtle use of oak is rich and round with great length and will develop greater complexity with cellaring.
Aromas of ripe raspberry and cherry on the palate there is good flavour intensity and slightly jammy raspberry/ cherry flavours with some farmy overtones. Soft tannins and medium length finish. This wine has character and was very enjoyable.” |
