Merlot in the Adelaide Hills is often low cropping which results in a flavoursome full bodied wine with good colour. A very attractive mix of red currant, cassis, plum and spice lead an elegant medium bodied palate; soft fruit tannins and time in French oak barriques provide perfect length and texture that accentuate the varietal character of this wine. Although this wine is drinking superbly at present, if cellared for then next 5-10 years it will develop beautifully in bottle.
Enjoy with lamb roast or a venison pie.

BK: Prominent berries on the nose and to taste, with raspberry the dominant character. Enjoyable wine. Fireside special.
MM: nose: marzipan and plum
palate: raspberry with a dry finish - pleasant.
TE: Stewed plum - wonderful oak/fruit balance - exciting merlot. The pick of the days selection.
