Prepare to get very excited! We can't tell you the brand, but we can tell you this: - It has a label. - You will instantly recognise the label as an absolute icon of the Yarra Valley. - You will give yourself a well earned high-five when it arrives on your doorstep!
92 Points From Halliday, this is an awesome aromatic, textured, light in colour and yummy, complex Yarra Valley Pinot displaying cherry and plum fruit flavours, finishing with beautiful balance and silky tannins. At under $40 a bottle originally this Pinot was priced well for a Yarra Valley option, but at this price this is easily the best value Pinot Noir on the market.
This winery really is for the astute wine drinker. Their wines often are missed by those who don't "know" their winemakers. But those in the know look at the winemaker and realise that again and again they are sourcing fruit and winemaking expertise from the best in the business.
Their 2011 Estate Pinot Noir is a ripping example of this! This Pinot has the body and depth most 2011's missed out on. Sitting higher in the Valley than other vineyards that were effected by the heavy rains of 2011, they continued to produce consistent, elegant looking wine in 2011 despite difficult conditions.
