A Yarra Valley classic, bright red with hints of purple and a nose of dark cherry, red berries and spice to match, this is the perfect standard pinot. Flavours of rhubarb, wild cherries, jubes and nutmeg with a nice texture and an excellent hit of tannin in the mid palate. There’s a moreish savour character that creeps out toward the end that’s going to have you topping up your glass. The finish is lingering and smooth with the slightest crackle of acidity at the very end. Drink this whenever, wherever, with whatever you want.
From the Winery
Harvested from vineyards in the areas of Dixon’s Creek, Yarra Glen, Coldstream and Gladysdale, each vineyard is handcrafted individually. Open pots and static fermenters provide difference in control of fermentation management technique, temperature and flavour and tanin extraction. Yeast selection also allows winemakers to enhance mouthfeel, structure and fruit, depending on what each vineyard is bringing to the wine. Matured in French oak hogshead and stainless steel vessels for approx. 9-12 months. The individual parcels are then assessed and blended prior to a coarse filtration and estate bottling.
