Victoria's first vineyard is a landmark in the Yarra Valley and an icon of the Australian wine industry.
Bright cherry red in colour, with good interplay between savoury spice, dried herb notes and dark cherry aromas. The palate delivers flavours of red berries, layered over dried herb notes. There's a hint of vanilla in attendance too. Rich, with great mouth-filling quality, the finish is long and delicate.
Awards and Accolades
2015 Vintage: 94 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion "Estate-grown, matured in French puncheons for 11 months. The highly fragrant bouquet already has bewitching spicy notes, part fruit, part oak-derived. The '14 vintage was low in yield, but high in quality, as this wine demonstrates. Spicy notes continue to flow through the long palate; with time, the oak will diminish and fruit spice will increase."
2014 Vintage: GOLD - Melbourne Wine Show 2015
From the Winery
